Noteworthy Compensation Increase for PAs in 2023

According to Medscape’s 2023 PA Compensation Report, PAs enjoyed an average compensation increase of 6% last year.
Family medicine, emergency medicine, and orthopedics were the top three medical specialties represented by the survey respondents. More than 2000 PAs across 29+ specialties participated in Medscape’s survey; 64% of respondents identify as female, and the other 34% as male.
PAs working in rural and urban areas were reported to receive greater annual compensation than those working in suburban and exurban areas.
